Activated carbon

Activated carbon is a sorption-based filter media used in pressure tank (balloon) filtration systems. It effectively removes chlorine, organic compounds, unpleasant odors, and tastes, significantly improving the organoleptic quality of water.
Activated carbon is commonly used for municipal water treatment and for water that has undergone preliminary mechanical filtration. In pressure tank systems, it operates under constant pressure and is maintained through automatic backwash cycles.
