World Food Day

Clean water — the key to health and the base of safe nutrition

   Every year on October 16, the world celebrates World Food Day, established by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO). The purpose of this day is to draw attention to food security, product quality, and sustainable development.
   Yet, there is one essential element behind all of these — water. The purity of water determines not only the taste but also the safety of the food we eat every day.

Why water is the invisible ingredient of every kitchen?

Water plays a role in every stage of food preparation:

  • washing fruits, vegetables, and meat;
  • cooking soups, sauces, and beverages;
  • serving as a base for coffee, tea, and bread;
  • cleaning dishes and kitchen equipment.

If water contains chlorine, iron, lime, or other impurities, it can:

  • alter the taste and smell of dishes;
  • affect the color and texture of ingredients;
  • shorten the shelf life of cooked food;
  • harm health with long-term consumption.

Even in professional kitchens, where ingredient quality is strictly controlled, water quality remains a decisive factor.

Water filtration — the key to safety and flavor

Modern filtration systems remove mechanical particles, bacteria, heavy metals, and hardness salts from water. It’s not just a matter of taste — it’s a matter of health.

Filtered water:

  • makes washing fruits and vegetables safer;
  • preserves the natural taste and color of ingredients;
  • prevents scale buildup on kitchen appliances;
  • improves the quality of drinks and dishes.

Without clean water, there’s no sustainable nutrition

   World Food Day reminds us: care for food begins with care for water. In today’s world of climate change, clean, filtered water is the key not only to healthy nutrition but also to a sustainable future.
